contract 《for work》; receive [get] a contract 《for work from sb》; 〔引き受ける〕 undertake; take on.

●家の建築を請け負っている have a [be under] contract to build a house

・ヨットの建造を 5,000 万円で請け負う contract [take on a contract] to build a yacht for \50 million

・朝食作りを請け負う take on the task of cooking breakfast

・請け負わせる give [award] (sb) a contract 《for…》; give a contract 《to sb to do》; contract 《work》 (out); 〔取り立て･管理などを〕 contract [farm] out 《rents, taxes, etc.》

・仕事の一部を系列会社に請け負わせた. Some of the work was contracted out to affiliated companies.
